Trump Willing To Do ‘Whatever Is Necessary’ To Help Select McCarthy Replacement

Following Rep. Kevin McCarthy’s (R-CA) removal as Speaker of the House, rumors began to circulate regarding former President Donald Trump becoming speaker. Trump stated he would do “whatever is necessary” to help select McCarthy’s replacement.

One of the leading rumors flowing through Washington D.C. following the removal of McCarthy was the notion of Trump becoming Speaker of the House. The rumor initially appeared to be a sarcastic joke, but it has grown credence.

Trump had several responses when asked about his views on becoming Speaker of the House. One of his responses was that he would do what was best for the United States. In a more thought-out response, Trump had a more unified statement.

“I am running for President, have a 62 Point lead over Republicans, and am up on Crooked Joe Biden, despite the Democrat Party’s massive Law-fare, Weaponization, and Election Interference efforts, by 4 to 11 Points, but will do whatever is necessary to help with the Speaker of the House selection process, short term, until the final selection of a GREAT REPUBLICAN SPEAKER is made — A Speaker who will help a new, but highly experienced President, ME, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Trump posted the statement on his social media platform, Truth Social, on Thursday.

Though Trump has a wide point lead for the upcoming presidential election, many believe a Speaker of the House seat would be a better move for him. Rep. Troy Nehls (R-VA) is one of the more prominent advocates for Trump being speaker.

Nehls went to social media to announce he was nominating Trump for Speaker. He later announced in an official statement that he would back whoever Trump backed for the position should Trump not want the speaker position.

It is unclear if the idea of Trump running for the speaker position will gain traction. At this time, Trump is standing behind, helping to find the best candidate to get a worthy Republican speaker in the position.
