Former President Donald Trump has issued a public challenge to President Joe Biden, proposing a debate and a golf match with a $1 million charity donation at stake if Biden emerges victorious. The announcement was made during a rally in Doral, Florida, where Trump encouraged Biden to take the opportunity to prove his capabilities following a widely criticized debate performance on June 27.
“Tonight, I’m officially offering Joe the chance to redeem himself in front of the entire world,” Trump declared. “Let’s do another debate this week so that Sleepy Joe Biden can prove to everyone all over the world that he has what it takes to be president. But, this time it will be man to man, no moderators.”
In addition to the debate, Trump proposed an 18-hole golf match, referencing their previous debate discussion about golf skills.
“I’m also officially challenging Crooked Joe to an 18-hole golf match right here,” Trump said, offering Biden a handicap of ten strokes per side.
“If he wins, I will give the charity of his choice, any charity that he wants, $1 million,” Trump continued. “And, I’ll bet you he doesn’t take the offer. Because he’s all talk. But, what that match will do is prove that Joe is in fact, all talk and no action.”
This challenge comes amidst growing pressure on Biden from Democrats, donors, and voters to step aside due to concerns about his performance and health. Trump’s challenge serves to question Biden’s fitness for office while emphasizing his own vitality.
During the presidential debate, Trump and Biden exchanged barbs about their golfing prowess, with Trump boasting of recent club championship wins and Biden claiming a significant improvement in his golf handicap during his time as vice president.
The nation now awaits Biden’s response to Trump’s challenge, which has captured the public’s attention and promises to be a noteworthy event in the political landscape.
