Trump Attorney Alina Habba Vows To Appeal E. Jean Carroll Verdict

After former president and current GOP primary frontrunner Donald Trump was ordered to pay $83.3 million to E. Jean Carroll without even being allowed to defend himself against the charges, his attorney Alina Habba has announced that the Trump legal team would be appealing the ruling “immediately.”

The New York jury ruled on Friday that Trump would be ordered to pay $18.3 million in compensatory damages and another $65 million in punitive damages to Carroll for making “defamatory public statements” about her in 2019. Carroll has accused Trump of attacking her in a department store dressing room in the 1990s without any evidence. Not a single witness has come forward to confirm the story, despite Trump being one of the most famous people in the world and easily recognizable if he were to have entered the store that day.

Carroll has also been proven to be unhinged and mentally unstable in numerous interviews, and her ludicrous case against Trump was reportedly bankrolled by billionaire co-LinkedIn founder, Democrat megadonor and Epstein Island repeat visitor Reid Hoffman. All of this information has led commentators to believe that the case is yet another “witch hunt” and an attempt to handicap Trump in his 2024 presidential campaign.

Speaking with reporters outside of the New York courtroom on Friday, Habba vowed that she would not let the blatantly unfair trial and its verdict stand — noting that she was “proud” to stand with Trump in this battle.

“I so am proud to stand with President Trump,” she said. “But I am not proud to stand with what I saw in that courtroom.”

“We will immediately appeal,” Habba added. “We will set aside that ridiculous jury.”

She went on to point out that the trial was “unfair” from the start, noting that Trump’s legal team had been denied most of its requests.

“Before I walked into court, that judge decided that every single defense that President Trump had, we were not allowed to raise in front of the jury. It is in writing and I encourage the real journalists to take the minute to look at his orders,” Habba explained. “There was no proof, and I couldn’t prove that she didn’t bring in the dress, there was no DNA, there were no experts. My experts were denied. Two of them were denied to come in.”

“They didn’t let me bring up that Reid Hoffman funded Ms. Kaplan (Carroll’s lawyer). And you know what we got in there? That my witness, who was her friend, who said that she is a drug addict and the drug addict is herself. That friend, I found out in there, was paid for by Ms. Kaplan’s firm. That is disgusting, that is a violation of everything I stand for, and that is why I stand with Trump,” she said.

“Don’t get it twisted. We are seeing a violation of our justice system, ladies and gentlemen,” Habba continued. “You are not allowed to be stripped of every defense that you have.”

“I am proud to stand with President Trump because he showed up. He stood up, he took the stand, and he faced this judge. And you know what? I’ll continue to do so with him,” she added.
