Trump Administration Turns Migrant App Into Self-Deportation Tool

The Biden-era CBP One app, previously used to funnel over a million illegal immigrants into the country, has been completely repurposed under the Trump administration. Instead of facilitating entry, the app now encourages illegal migrants to voluntarily leave the U.S. before facing deportation.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem introduced the new version, now called CBP Home, on Monday. The updated platform features a “Submit Intent to Depart” option, allowing migrants to register their departure before they are tracked down and removed by federal authorities.

“If they don’t leave on their own, we will find them, we will deport them, and they will never return,” Noem warned, making it clear that illegal entry will no longer be tolerated under Trump’s policies.

The app’s overhaul follows Trump’s immediate termination of Biden’s border entry program on his first day back in office. Previously, CBP One allowed migrants to schedule asylum appointments at official ports of entry and even book flights into the country. Those privileges have now been eliminated, leaving thousands stranded at the southern border.

ICE has intensified its deportation efforts, prioritizing the removal of those with criminal records and outstanding orders of removal. Additionally, the administration has launched a media blitz across Latin America, warning migrants that illegal crossings will result in swift expulsion.

Meanwhile, military resources are being used to assist with deportation flights, ensuring removals happen efficiently. With these aggressive enforcement measures, the administration is making it clear that the era of open borders is over.
