NYC Mayor Prompts Pro-Trump Reaction From 50 Cent

Grammy award-winning rapper 50 Cent boosted Trump’s signal on Instagram as news of New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ $53 million food stamps program for 500 migrant families spread across social media on Saturday.

“Can’t explain this I’m stuck maybe TRUMP is the answer,” wrote 50 Cent on a screenshot of the New York Post’s story about the Big Apple’s new immigrant welfare program. The positive comment on Trump earned the rapper the accolade “Based Fiddy” from Breitbart.

Breitbart reported that 50 Cent has previously criticized California for using public funds to pay for health care for migrants.

Under the new program with the same income scale as the state of New York’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) a family of four can get about $1,000 a month, with refills every 28 days. The New York Post reported New Jersey company Mobility Capital Finance will facilitate the service for U.S. asylum seekers arriving at the Roosevelt Hotel.

The card program is going by the honor system to spend the funds on food and baby items only. Card recipients sign a sworn statement that they will only buy approved items with the prepaid credit cards or the city will revoke their card.

50 Cent was not the only rapper to praise Trump in recent days. Platinum-selling artist Snoop Dogg said one week ago in an interview with the Sunday Times of London that he has “nothing but love and respect” for the 45th president after years of being a critic of Trump.

“Donald Trump?” Snoop Dogg said. “He ain’t done nothing wrong to me. He has done only great things for me. He pardoned Michael Harris.”

After Snoop Dogg appealed to Trump on behalf of Death Row Records co-founder Michael “Harry-O” Harris, Trump pardoned him in Jan. 2021 as one of his final acts in office. After hearing an appeal from Kim Kardashian, Trump pressed the First Step Act in Congress and signed it in Dec. 2018. The act creates a process for the U.S. to end mass incarceration.
