Nancy Pelosi Slams Katy Tur As A Trump ‘Apologist’

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) recently slammed MSNBC host Katy Tur, claiming the leftist commentator is an “apologist” for former President Donald Trump for complimenting the president’s economic policies.

Pelosi cited job numbers under the Trump administration, falsely saying he was the “worst president” for job loss.

Following the California congresswoman’s comment, Tur slightly pushed back, saying, “That was a global pandemic.”

“He had the worst record of any president, we’ve had other concerns in our country,” Pelosi fired back. “If you want to be an apologist for Donald Trump, that may be your role, but it ain’t mine.”

Tur added that she doesn’t believe anyone can accuse her of such.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) indicated that unemployment increased under Trump only when the COVID-19 pandemic reached our shores. Employment only stabilized during the spring of 2022 as the disease subsided.

Tur has been highly critical of the former president on multiple occasions. After Trump released a statement concerning the Supreme Court’s unanimous ruling on Colorado’s decision to bar him from the ballot, the MSNBC host said the former president’s response was a “word salad” instead of a speech.

Pelosi’s discussion with Tur seems to touch on a pattern of division that the liberal host previously made about America’s lack of trust in the mainstream media for “blowing everything up in a nuclear way” about Trump, according to the Post Millennial.

“There was just a Gallup poll out today that shows that the trust in media, in newspapers and television, is hitting an all-time low,” Tur said in 2022.

“People don’t trust us,” she added. “They don’t believe us and it makes me wonder if this job, as I’m currently doing it, is effective, but if it’s doing more harm than good, I don’t have a good answer for that. So those thoughts linger in the back of my mind.”
