Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) recently shared a startling story on “The Tucker Carlson Show,” raising serious concerns about President Joe Biden’s mental fitness. Lee detailed how Biden’s apparent cognitive decline has been obscured by Democrats and the legacy media, citing a personal incident involving his wife.
Lee recounted how his wife, Sharon, attended a White House dinner where Biden seemed confused and failed to recognize her, despite having sworn Lee into the Senate twice. “He asked her, ‘Do you work in the east wing?’ And she said, ‘No, no, Mr. President, I’m Sharon. Sharon Lee, Senator Mike Lee’s wife.’”
This incident, along with other observations, led Lee to suspect Biden’s cognitive decline. He compared Biden’s behavior to symptoms he noticed in his late mother-in-law, who suffered from Alzheimer’s. “I saw that same gait and posture in President Biden during his first term in office,” Lee stated.
Lee also highlighted how Biden has been shielded from public view and non-friendly press, as well as from members of Congress. “With Biden, it hardly happens at all, like they shielded him from us,” Lee said, contrasting Biden’s limited interactions with lawmakers to the more accessible approaches of former Presidents Obama and Trump.
During the interview, Carlson discussed the pressure on Biden to end his reelection bid due to these concerns. Lee’s revelations add weight to these calls, especially given Biden’s visible struggles during public appearances and debates.
The White House, however, has dismissed concerns about Biden’s cognitive abilities. Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has labeled circulating videos as “cheap fakes” orchestrated by Republicans.
Public concern about Biden’s mental health is growing. An August 2022 Issues & Insights/TIPP poll revealed that 59% of adults were “very concerned” about Biden’s mental health, with 36% being “somewhat concerned.” After a debate where Biden struggled to finish his statements, a CBS/YouGov poll showed that 72% of Americans doubted his cognitive and mental ability to serve in office.
As the 2024 election approaches, Biden’s mental fitness remains a contentious topic. Lee’s account underscores the need for transparency and raises questions about the administration’s handling of the president’s health.
