The Kamala Harris presidential campaign is ramping up efforts to attract Republican voters after securing endorsements from a group of RINOs. Former GOP Reps. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois and Liz Cheney of Wyoming, along with Jimmy McCain, son of the late Arizona Sen. John McCain, have thrown their support behind Harris over President Donald Trump.
These endorsements are part of a broader strategy to appeal to moderate Republicans and Independents who may be disillusioned with Trump. Kinzinger, Cheney, and McCain have long been critical of Trump, making them central to Harris’s GOP outreach.
“We’re proud of the bipartisan groundswell of support for Vice President Harris,” said campaign spokesperson Ian Sams. “Her focus on patriotism, freedom, and defending our Constitution resonates with voters across the political spectrum.”
Harris’s campaign recently launched a “Republicans for Harris” initiative, appointing a National Republican Engagement Director tasked with engaging moderate Republicans and Independents. The campaign hopes to capitalize on dissatisfaction within the GOP and build a broader coalition.
President Trump’s campaign, however, remains strong with endorsements from former Democrats like Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard. Trump campaign spokesperson Karoline Leavitt criticized Harris’s reliance on RINO endorsements, calling it “a desperate attempt to pander to moderate Republicans who have lost their way.”
