The far-left sports news outlet Deadspin, which defamed a young National Football League (NFL) fan for wearing attire related to the Kansas City Chiefs, was recently sold by its owners, leaving many staffers without jobs.
Deadspin’s decision to falsely accuse the nine-year-old NFL fan of wearing blackface at a Kansas City Chiefs game in Las Vegas, Nevada, ended up being a devastating move for the company.
Axios, which refused to report Deadspin’s false allegations against the nine-year-old football fan, reported that the outlet’s owner, G/O Media, recently announced a sale of the website to Europe’s Lineup Publishing.
G/O Media CEO Jim Spanfeller said the decision was made with his investors in mind. As part of negotiations, current staffers at Deadspin will not retain their jobs.
“Spanfeller said none of Deadspin’s existing staff will move over with the site as part of the deal, and the new owners will ‘instead build a new team more in line with their editorial vision for the brand,’” Axios reported. “Impacted staffers were notified Monday that they were being let go from G/O Media, marking the third round of cuts at the firm in less than a year.”
It is unknown whether G/O Media’s decision to leave the staffers without a job was done financially or whether Deadspin’s attack on the young NFL fan contributed to the sale.
Deadspin writer Carron J. Phillips previously found an edited picture of the nine-year-old boy, Holden Armenta, showing him wearing a headdress with black paint on one side of his face. The leftist author wrote that the boy “found a way to hate Black people and the Native Americans at the same time.”
Phillips ignored the fact that Armenta’s face was also painted red, resembling the colors of the Kansas City Chiefs. Despite being corrected on the matter, the Deadspin writer refused to retract his article.
Deadspin is utter trash.
They are trying to smear a child for wearing black and red face paint in the style of the Kansas City Chiefs and used a picture that deliberately hid the red side of the child's face in an attempt to claim he was wearing black face. pic.twitter.com/EneY5YComD

Instead of apologizing and admitting when wrong, Deadspin’s editors modified the article several times, trying to frame the story’s thesis as one dealing with the NFL’s handling of racial issues.
Making matters worse for the left-wing publication, it was later revealed that Armenta is a Native American.
