Cheney Faces Scrutiny As Republicans Accuse Her Of Witness Tampering

Anti-Trump conservative pariah Liz Cheney is facing serious allegations from House Republicans, who are calling for an FBI investigation into claims she tampered with a witness during the January 6 Committee’s work. The former representative’s conduct is being scrutinized following new evidence revealed in a congressional report.

The report, released by Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA), alleges Cheney engaged in secret communications with Cassidy Hutchinson, a witness, without Hutchinson’s lawyer’s involvement. This act, Loudermilk claims, violates federal witness tampering laws.

The report also alleges misconduct within the January 6 Committee, including the omission and destruction of key records. According to Loudermilk, the committee deliberately excluded evidence that could have supported President Donald Trump.

Hutchinson’s testimony, a cornerstone of the committee’s public hearings, is now under fire. The report claims her most inflammatory statements lacked evidence, with the committee knowingly advancing falsehoods.

Cheney’s recent comments denying her guilt are seen by some as an attempt to get ahead of the accusations. Critics argue these statements only heighten suspicion that she engaged in unethical conduct.

House Republicans are also raising questions about potential collusion between Special Counsel Jack Smith and the January 6 Committee. They argue the committee’s actions were politically motivated and demand a full investigation into Cheney’s role.
