Brett Favre has taken aim at Allstate CEO Tom Wilson over comments made during the Sugar Bowl broadcast, accusing him of pushing a divisive message. Wilson’s remarks followed a deadly terrorist attack in New Orleans that left 14 people dead.
Wilson addressed viewers during the game, referencing the tragedy and urging Americans to come together. “Our prayers are with the victims and their families,” Wilson said, adding that overcoming “an addiction to divisiveness” was necessary to strengthen communities.
I heard:
There was no televised National Anthem for Sugar Bowl yesterday.
Instead a DEI message by @Allstate CEO.
Woke is a joke.

Favre, however, criticized the focus of Wilson’s message. Posting on X, Favre said, “I heard: There was no televised National Anthem for Sugar Bowl yesterday. Instead a DEI message by @Allstate CEO. Woke is a joke.”

The backlash didn’t stop there. Social media platforms were flooded with calls for boycotts and demands for Wilson’s resignation, with users accusing the CEO of politicizing a solemn moment.
Woke = anti-white. No theorycel’ing can change that truth.
Ireland demonstrates the woke ideology. How can you hate the Irish? It makes no sense under any “theory of woke.”
Total hatred of white skin. That is what wokeness is.

Allstate issued a statement later, clarifying Wilson’s comments. “To be clear, Allstate CEO Tom Wilson unequivocally condemns this heinous act of terrorism and violence in all forms,” the company said. The statement emphasized a commitment to fostering trust and positivity.
